PHCOLO is located in The Peak Tower, 107 Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Central Business District of Makati City, Metro Manila- the heart of Philippine Business. It is situated at the center of major transportation hubs facilitating easy access to Customer.

Significantly, it is bounded by the main offices and distribution nodes of the premier telecommunication and wireless companies- Philippine Long Distance Corporation, Globe Telecoms, Digitel Telecom, Eastern Telecom and Bell Telecom.

As such, The Peak Tower is the premier interconnection site of all Philippine telecommunication companies. It is the recognized as the country’s “First Intelligent Building and primary data center location of 2 universal banks; the first commercial ISP- Mozcom and large Call Centers.

Flood Control

PHCOLO is contained in a building built above sea level, with tightly sealed conduits, moisture barriers on exterior walls, pump rooms and drainage/evacuation systems.

Structural Integrity

The Peak Tower is built on a floating foundation that guarantees optimal balance during seismic occurrences. In addition, equipment and non-structural components, including cabinets, are anchored and braced in accordance with the standards of Building Code. It is a column free environment. Its walls are 8,000 pounds per square inch poured concrete that will thwart an ammunition attack.

Building Management

Judith Duavit Vazquez, PHCOLO founder is developer of The Peak Tower. She is chairman and president of the building association, thereby guaranteeing a seat of control from the security of
the main lobby to the inner sanctum of PHCOLO.

Multiple Power Feeds

PHCOLO Power System is supplied by multiple power feeds from the local electric utility company, a level of redundancy that guarantees continuous operation.

1.5 Mega-Watts of Diesel Generator supplied by 25,000 liters of Fuel

PHCOLO has a combined backup power of 1.5Mega-Watts of diesel generators and a fuel reserve tank capacity of 25,000 liters. This is equivalent to One (1) Week of continuous power supply to the entire building The Peak Tower and PHCOLO facilities.

Data Center Grade Uninterrupted Power System (UPS)

PHCOLO uses a Data Center - grade UPS battery supply system. This sophisticated UPS system provides one (1) hour of power to PHCOLO equipment during a power outage. It ensures the seamless transfer of power supply between the standard electrical source (Meralco) to the facility’s diesel powered generator sets.

On-line System Built Battery Bank for Power Fluctuation Prevention

All PHCOLO racks are provided a digitally metered AC outlet backed by a system built on-line Battery Bank that ensure the continuous supply of quality power. This insures Customer systems against power surges or drops. (Customers must supply their own DC system should certain sensitive equipment so require.)

PHCOLO custom-designed and manufactured aluminium cable tray systems permits infinitely scalable and flexible interconnections. It meets with ease customers’ systems expansion and fast-response to growing traffic demands.

It prevents interference problems between electricity and data pulses. It is orderly yet easily accessible for high-speed maintenance.

In-house Multiple and Redundant Fiber, Copper and Co-Axial Backbones

PHCOLO is owner of multiple and redundant cable backbones that traverse the entire 45 storey length of The Peak Tower- from basement level to the Tower. These backbones provide swift interconnection to all fiber/ cable and wireless carriers.

Digital Metering per Customer Equipment

PHCOLO is the only colocation facility in the country that deploys individual digital meters to Customer systems. Customers are billed for the electricity consumed on a month to month basis.

Independent wiring per Customer equipment rated power

Electricity supply and quality is critical to computer systems.

PHCOLO is the only colocation facility in the country that provides independent electrical wiring and power to every single Customer rack based on the equipment’s rate power requirements.

This assures delivery of sufficient power at maximum levels of processing levels and protection from electrical disruptions and fires caused by bad/insufficient wiring conditions.

Constant cool-air temperature, low humidity and low static control are critical to the long-term life of ‘always ON’ computer equipment. PHCOLO is fitted with a redundant HVAC system that delivers constant and ideal air cooling, humidity and anti dust environment. Air-cooled package chillers are arranged in N+1 redundancy configurations and backed up by redundant power.

The Physical Security System is exceedingly comprehensive. A fully monitored “mantrap” separates the welcome lobby area from the main lobby of the building.

Two (2) Central Security Rooms

All activities within the common areas and PHCOLO facilities are tracked from Two (2) Central Security Rooms located in different areas.

Redundant CCTV Camera Systems

A sophisticated closed circuit television (CCTV) camera system ensures that images in various locations of the building, from entry to the building, up to the elevators, along the hallways, and into PHCOLO environment, are captured, transmitted and recorded in redundant Control Systems.

Biometrics and Proximity Card Access Systems

The Biometrics System and Proximity Card Access System provide dual and reciprocating access control management and verification technology to PHCOLO and key access points of the facility.

PHCOLO Fire Protection System is managed on three inter-dependent platforms:

+ Fire Detection system (VESDA Laser Compact)
+ Fire Suppression System( FE 13-Trifluoromethane)
+ Interactive Public Fire Station Control System

Fire Detection system (Laser Compact)

Fire Detection is anchored on core laser plus detection technology proven effective in a wide range of environments. This technology operates by continually drawing air from the protected environment via high efficiency aspirators, through the sampling pipe network to the central highly sensitive detectors.

Fire Suppression System (FE 13 -Trifluoromethane)

The most innovating technique for electrical fire fighting is the “Total Flooding System” which uses carbon dioxide, inert gases and homogenated hydrocarbon. PHCOLO Fire Suppression System is an automated system, which combines HCFC and FE13. These gases are people and property-friendly with low toxicity, great efficacy, and zero-ozone depletion potential. Best of all, the suppression system is the ideal standard for Fire Protection for Computing Equipment.

Interactive Fire Station Control System

The Fire Protection System is equipped with a state-of-the-art control system. It identifies the degree of fire alarm that is automatically transmitted and relayed to the building fire control team and Public Fire Station of Makati City for immediate action.

PHCOLO balances its colocation facilities with generous work and meeting areas for its Customer Technical Teams, understanding that proper systems configuration and software maintenance are prerequisites to a successful long-term location at PHCOLO.

Grounded computer server assembly tables

Equipment maintenance and upgrades are facilitated by an anti-static and fully grounded staging area.

Workstations

Work areas are equipped with telephones, LAN connectivity to the PHCOLO Data Center and Internet connectivity are provided for Customer systems maintenance, systems back-up or disaster recovery purposes, among others. (Note that Customers are expected to bring their own laptops for troubleshooting and set-up purposes.)

Audio Visual Conference Room

The AVR is equipped with a projector and screen, white boards and markers, a computer workstation and pantry. It is the ideal site for training programs and presentations.

Private Meeting Rooms

Three (3) private meeting rooms for smaller meetings (up to 6 people) are available.

Temporary Lockers, Shower and Changing Room

These are available for late night/over night deployments.

Secretarial Support

Xerox, fax and secretarial assistance are available. Assistance for food service and delivery is provided.
